Marti was born and raised in Indianapolis. She has an Associates degree from Indiana University and graduated from the Clarian Health END program in 2004. She then obtained her R. EEG T. registry in 2004, followed by R. EP T. and CNIM registries in 2005.

Marti states she enjoys working in electroneurodiagnostics "because of the wide variety offered in our field. I can spend my day doing clinical EEGs and EPs one day and then spend the next day monitoring in the operating room. It is never boring." Marti is proud to serve the END community, not only as an ISETT officer but also as an ABRET volunteer and board examiner. She endeavers to help spread awareness and interest in our unique field.

Marti currently lives on the city's northeast side with her husband, Tim, and two sons, Ryan and Evan. She works at St. Vincent Hospital in Indainapolis.
